Join Grangetto's & Guest Speaker Roy Wilburn “aka FARMER ROY” for an informative workshop on planting & maintaining your winter veggies such as broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, bok choy, kale, spinach, cabbage, kohlrabi and more.

Roy Wilburn is the Director of Horticulture at Sunshine Care Homes in Poway. He manages five organic gardens, maintains the 32-acre grounds and is a master composter. Learn more about Farmer Roy at www.sunshinecare.com

Nicholas Stehly won Grangetto’s sponsored Farm Bureau Scholarship

Nicholas Stehly was the proud recipient of the 2012 Grangetto’s/San Diego County Farm Bureau scholarship. Nick is a junior at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and majoring in agribusiness. He is the grandson of Nick Stehly Sr. who lives and farms in Valley Center.


Friends & Family Community Connection's 15th Year Providing
Thanksgiving Food Boxes for Local Families in Need

Please help provide a box or bag filled with the following items. Donations will be collected by November 12.

Thanksgiving Items Needed:

Cranberry Sauce (canned) Canned Corn, Stuffing, Corn Bread Mix,Canned Sweet Potatoes/Yams, Canned Green Beans, Gravy (Canned, Jar or Mix) Aluminum Foil, Small bottle of cooking oil, $15-$25 Gift Certificates to Albertson's, Stater Bros or Vons for turkey and/or fresh food items.

We also collect food pantry items year round:

Peanut Butter Rice, Canned Beans, Pasta, Pasta Sauce, Canned Chicken or Tuna, Macaroni and Cheese, Soups, Cereal
