September is our transition into fall here in Southern California. The nights may begin to cool off, but we often have days that are still warm and it's not uncommon to have short blasts of extremely hot weather and Santa Ana winds. Over the next two or three months, we switch from summer-blooming to winter-blooming annuals and from warm-season to cool-season vegetables. You may have already started planning your winter vegetable and flower selections by now, but if you haven’t it’s a great time to start. It is the perfect time to start preparing for an abundant spring by installing new plants, trees, lawns, perennials and winter vegetables. Check out our gardening tips and articles to help you start the fall off right. We have great deals this month including Echo Blowers & Oil, Ames Falcon Shovels & Flexrake Lawn & Shrub rakes, just to name a few!
Each year Tyler’s wife, Gretchen, participates in the “Walk to Cure Diabetes,” a program through JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). Presley’s life changed FOREVER on the day she was diagnosed. Her life changed from being a kid with a carefree life, to one with finger pricks, insulin injections, carbohydrate counting, highs, and lows. Gretchen Khoranoff is walking with Presley's Blue Suede Shoe Crew on November 8, 2009 in San Diego, CA. Please visit her website to learn how you can help. Gretchen has put together a powerful video about Presley and her life with Diabetes. Watch the video here. Please help Gretchen and Tyler meet their goal in the aid to find a cure for their daughter, Presley, and many other children. Donate Now.
