California Coastal Rose Society
MONTHLY MEETING OF CALIFORNIA COASTAL ROSE SOCIETY (CCRS)
The California Coastal Rose Society meets on the third Tuesday of the month at Heritage Hall, 2650 Garfield, Carlsbad which is located in northwest corner of Magee Park. Our next meeting will be at 7 PM on 16 February 2010 and feature Dr. Keith and Deb Zary from Jackson and Perkins who will show slides and talk about "Roses for the 21st Century".
Preceeding the featured talk from 6:15-6:45 AM, Dr. Joel Ross will continue his Rose-aholics lecture series with reports and discussion from members on their experiences with cultivating roses.

California Rare Fruit Growers, San Diego Chapter
The San Diego Chapter of the California Rare Fruit Growers was created to educate people about rare fruits, to identify fruits that are adaptable to the local area, and to propagate and to exchange plant materials.
When and where do we meet?
7 p.m., fourth Wednesday of the month (except during November and December, when it shifts to the third Wednesday) in Casa del Prado Building (usually Room 101), in Balboa Park.
During the year, the San Diego Chapter has many activities related to growing rare, unusual and exotic fruits. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in growing fruits in the San Diego area and a desire to improve their gardening skills. Our meetings cover a wide variety of subjects such as selecting rare or semitropical fruit trees, how to plant and take care of them, how enhance your garden with fruit trees, and what to do with your new source of food.
During our meetings, we have a raffle of rare and exotic plants, mostly scarce fruit trees, donated to the Chapter by our generous membership. We also have a fruit tasting table, where the members get to enjoy fresh fruit prepared in many ways.
In addition, members receive a monthly newsletter filled with information about activities of interest to San Diego gardeners, and recipes using exotic fruits.

Del Mar Rose Society
The Del Mar Rose Society meets monthly on the last Thursday of each month, January through September, with the exception of June. The meetings take place at the Powerhouse Community Center on Coast Blvd. and begin with a coffee social at 6:30 pm followed by the program at 7 pm. The public is welcome to attend.

Vista Garden Club
General Meetings: First Friday of every month (except July and August) at noon, in the Vista Senior Center, 1400 Vale Terrace in Vista.
Notes: Visitors are welcome to attend our meetings and share in our fingertip luncheon. Each month we have a program addressing some aspect of gardening. Prior to the monthly meetings we have either a workshop or a tour. Membership is open to everyone, and dues are a nominal $25.00 a year or $40.00 for a family.
