René van Rems: Holiday Entertaining with California Natives

On December 10, 2007 let San Diego’s own René van Rems inspire you to get creative this Holiday season through floral decor with California natives. René’s humorous presentation will showcase unusual materials while making you look at nature differently. The evening starts at 6:00 p.m. in the Surfside Race Place at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on Jimmy Durante Blvd. in Del Mar.
Not only is creating decor for your living space highly therapeutic...it’s fun and will “wow” all who enter your home. Whether you are looking at a brilliantly laid out Holiday table or an abundant wreath for your home, this presentation will leave you wanting more. All of René’s designs will be auctioned off after the presentation, and proceeds go to the society. René’s book, René’s Bouquets, a guide to Euro style hand tied bouquets, will be available for sale and autograph.
René van Rems is a world-renowned ambassador of the floral industry. Originally from Amsterdam, René has called San Diego home for over 20 years. He is a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) and the Professional Floral Commentators International, and gives design shows, workshops, and seminars throughout the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia on the styling of fresh-cut flowers. A frequent speaker at leading art museums, René has been featured in numerous national publications like California Florists, Sunset Magazine, Flowers & Magazine, Floral Management, Florist Magazine, and Flower News.
