September 25, 2007 - Pine Needle Basket
Teachers: Kathy and Marie Walsh. Pine needle basket class. All materials furnished! Bring a towel and clippers. Cost $25.00 for members, $30.00 for non-members.
October 2, 2007 - Appalachian Basket
Teachers: Kathy and Marie Walsh. Natural Appalachian-style basket class. Basket is made of gleaned materials from gardens and park. Bring bucket, clippers and towel. Cost: $35, all materials furnished.
October 9, 2007 - Gourds
Teacher: M.J. Wydro. Gourds, all sizes and styles. M.J. will bring everything: gourds, paint, dye, and equipment. Come and enjoy a new hobby with a great teacher. Materials fee to teacher: $10. Cost: $25.00
October 16, 2007 - Table Arrangements
Together with members of the San Diego Floral Arrangers Guild, prepare table arrangements for the evening dinner meeting. Learn new ideas for table arrangements.
October 23, 2007 - Bird Feeder or Wind Chime
Teacher: M.J. Wydro. Learn to cut a gourd and fashion it into a bird feeder or wind chime. Paint and decorate the gourd to ornament your garden. All materials (gourds, paint, dye, and equipment) provided by M.J. Come and make something for your garden with a great teacher. Materials fee to teacher: $10. Cost: $25.00
October 30 & November 6, 2007 - Floral Design Series
Teacher: Velma West. Two-class series by SDFA’s senior flower arranging expert. Includes discussion and selection of a new design. October 30: Line and Line-Mass Design. Bring vase and flowers. November 6: A new design from our inventory: underwater, panels, etc. Cost $50 for non-members, $45 for members.
November 13, 2007 - Make Christmas Gifts
Make Christmas gifts for friends, trees or packages from natural materials. Make mini-wreaths, God's eye wreath, or small gourd. Cost: $25, all materials furnished.
November 20, 2007 - Thanksgiving Centerpiece
Teacher: Velma West, SDFA’s senior flower arranging expert. Make a centerpiece from natural materials, such as greens, vegetables, etc. Thanksgiving theme. All materials furnished. Students need clippers, pail, and lunch. Cost: $50.
November 27, 2007 - Holiday Designs
Teacher: Velma West, SDFA’s senior flower arranging expert, assisted by Marie Walsh. Holiday ideas from new designs, a zillion ways to use a luminary design. We will have lots of great ideas; you bring the lights and vase. We will have the flowers, three anthuriums and one leaf. Cost: $35 includes everything.
December 4, 2007 - Holiday Table
Teacher: Velma West, SDFA’s senior flower arranging expert, assisted by Marie Walsh. Design a Holiday table. Please bring bare root of Thanksgiving arrangement. Added fee for fresh greens, flowers, and wire $25.00.
