Grangetto's Gardening Tips for September

• Fertilize with Best Triple Pro 15-15-15 general-purpose fertilizer for shrubs, trees, lawns, and fruit trees.

• Amend and mulch flower and vegetable beds to prepare for fall planting with Whitney Farms Organic Planting Compost.

• Tools - Replace rakes in anticipation of fall clean up. For large areas use the Flexrake 19” lawn rake. For areas in flower beds, use the Flexrake 8” shrub rake.

• Fall clean up – clean up old, rotted fruit and vegetables. Rake up leaves and garden debris.

• Water – There’s still a month or more of warm weather before fall arrives. Check garden and lawns frequently. Wait until next month to re-adjust timers.

• Plant sweet peas, both bush and vine types.

• Put up bird feeders and supply fresh water for drinking and bathing.
